What is Meeting Cat?

Meeting Cat is an AI-powered meeting companion app that enables you to record, transcribe, and organize your spoken conversations and meetings. The app offers 5 free hours per week of recording, with an option to upgrade for unlimited use.

How does the free plan work?

You can record up to 5 hours per week without charge.
If you exceed that limit, the app will prompt you to upgrade to unlock unlimited use via a one-time in-app purchase.

Which platforms is Meeting Cat available on?

The app is available for the Apple family of devices - iPhone, iPad, MacOS via the app store.

What are the core features?

  • One-tap recording — quickly start capturing audio during conversations
  • Automatic transcription & export — convert recordings into shareable text
  • Meeting & notes integration / side-by-side view — see your meeting agenda and notes aligned
  • Organized archives — keep all your meetings, transcripts, and recordings in one place
  • Upgrade to unlimited — go beyond 5 hours per week by paying once

How accurate is the transcription?

Transcription quality depends on several factors:

  • Recording clarity (microphone quality, background noise)
  • Number of speakers, overlapping speech
  • Speaker accents or diction
  • Whether the subject is technical or uses domain-specific vocabulary

The AI aims to provide a solid first draft, but you should review and correct critical parts.

Can I export or share the transcripts?

Yes — the app supports exporting transcripts and sharing your meeting notes.
You can also archive or organize them within the app itself. The summary and transcript are saved in-app and in the “Meeting Cat” folder in your iCloud Drive.

What happens when I hit the free usage limit?

Once you use up your 5 free hours in a week, the app will prompt you to purchase the unlimited version via in-app purchase.
After upgrading, there is no cap.

Is Meeting Cat safe and private?

Meeting Cat provides a Privacy Policy and Terms of Service that covers how:

  • The app processes and stores recorded audio and transcripts
  • How data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • That user data is not shared or used for training models

What payment methods and refund policies apply?

  • The upgrade to unlimited is a one-time in-app purchase (not a subscription).
  • Refunds are governed by the rules of the app store (Apple App Store).

Will Meeting Cat work offline?

Transcription is done locally on your device and works offline.

Can I use Meeting Cat for non-meeting audio (e.g. interviews, lectures)?

Yes — any spoken audio source (interviews, lectures, conversations) can typically be recorded, transcribed, and archived.
Just ensure the recording quality is good and that you are following local laws regarding audio recordings.

No — Meeting Cat functions as your personal companion tool. It does not require participants to join via its own link or system. It doesn’t join meetings as bot or interject itself into your workflow. It doesn’t event require a login.

How do I get started?

  1. Install the Meeting Cat app on your device (iPhone / iPad / MacOS)
  2. Grant microphone/recording permissions
  3. Tap Record during your meeting or conversation
  4. After recording, review the transcript, edit if needed, export or archive it
